Somatic Yoga

Slow, awareness-centered movement that emphasizes sensation, choice, and embodied learning.

Find Your Fit

A practice shaped around your experience.

Pace: Slow, with time to notice sensation

Experience: All experience levels; curiosity matters more than pose experience

Gentle Somatic Yoga emphasizes how movement feels from the inside. Explore small, comfortable movements, breath awareness, and pauses to notice sensation. There is no requirement to achieve a particular pose shape or stretch deeply. This all-levels class also appears under Gentle Yoga because of its slow pace and adaptable movement.

Our experienced instructors offer guidance and variations. Let your teacher know you are new, and choose the options that fit your body that day.

This practice is not a substitute for individualized medical or mental health care, physical therapy, or rehabilitation. If pain, injury, balance concerns, or a health condition may affect participation, consult an appropriate clinician and speak with your instructor or practitioner before participating.

Read More about Gentle Somatic Yoga

Reconnect with your body through gentle, exploratory movements, breath awareness, and mindful attention to internal sensations. Rather than striving for a perfect pose, you'll be invited to move comfortably, notice how you feel, and develop greater ease and body awareness. This slower-paced class supports relaxation and mobility.

Level: All levels, including beginners.

Somatic movement emphasizes how an action feels from the inside rather than how it looks. You'll explore small, comfortable motions, breath awareness, and opportunities to pause and notice sensations. The practice encourages curiosity, self-direction, and a gentle approach to mobility. There is no pressure to stretch deeply or perform a particular pose.

Small movements can be meaningful when approached with attention. The instructor will encourage you to pause, notice, and respond to your own experience instead of comparing yourself with others.
