Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
Choose a starting point that fits the practice you want to explore.
What is the difference between Studio classes and Reformer Pilates?
Studio classes include Yoga, Barre, Mat Pilates, and Meditation. Reformer Pilates uses equipment and has its own introductory class pack, memberships, packages, and class capacity. Studio purchases do not include Reformer classes. Explore Our Practices.
Which introductory class pack should I choose?
Discover the Studio Experience includes 14 visits to regularly scheduled Yoga, Barre, Mat Pilates, and Meditation classes and expires in 14 days. It excludes specialty workshops, Reformer Pilates, therapeutic bodywork, and energetic healing sessions.
Discover the Reformer Experience includes one Reformer orientation class, two regularly scheduled All Levels Reformer classes, and use of a Reformer mat and grippy socks for all three classes. It excludes Studio classes, therapeutic bodywork, and energetic healing sessions.
Do I need experience before I begin?
Experience requirements vary by class. Review the class description and choose a level that fits your familiarity, comfort, and goals. If you are new to yoga or unsure where to begin, use Help Me Choose or ask us for guidance.
Do I need Reformer orientation?
Yes. All Levels and Sunrise Reformer classes require Reformer Orientation. Discover the Reformer Experience includes this orientation. Ask us about prerequisites for Brolates or readiness for Advanced Reformer. Read the Pilates class guidance.

Your First Visit
Plan for parking, the stairway entrance, and a few minutes to settle in.
Where is the entrance, and is there an elevator?
Find the stairway between Tom’s Coins and The Black Kat at 244 1/2 Middle Street, New Bern, NC 28560. The center is on the second floor; stairs are required and there is no elevator. Contact us before booking if access may affect your visit. View Map & Arrival Details.
Where can I park?
Free on-street parking is available nearby with a two-hour time limit. Allow extra time to find a space and walk to the entrance.
When should I arrive, and what should I bring?
Arrive about 10 minutes early for your first visit and tell the instructor you are new. Wear comfortable workout clothing and bring water. Reformer classes require a Reformer mat and grippy Pilates socks; Discover the Reformer Experience includes their use for its three classes. Review the class description for any additional preparation.
What if I need a different movement option?
Talk with your instructor about comfort, preferences, and relevant participation considerations before class. Ask for variations, choose an appropriate pace, and rest when needed. If pain, injury, or a health condition may affect participation, consult an appropriate clinician and ask us for help choosing a class.
Frequently Asked Questions
Private Events
Create a customized experience for your group.
Can you host a private workshop or celebration?
Yes. Plan a private experience by sharing your occasion, preferred dates, estimated group size, and desired practice. Our team will discuss fit, availability, format, and pricing. Submitting a request does not reserve a date. For an event you organize and lead, explore space rental options or request rental details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Workshops
Ask questions before choosing an upcoming experience.
How do I ask about or register for a workshop?
Visit the Workshops page for dates, descriptions, and registration links. Ask about a workshop if you need guidance on fit, prerequisites, preparation, or registration. An inquiry does not reserve a place; complete registration through the workshop’s booking link.

Individual Services
Start with an inquiry so we can discuss fit, availability, and the next step.
How do I arrange a private session or individual service?
For individual instruction, request a private training consultation. For hands-on care, ask about a bodywork appointment. For energetic healing, ask about a Reiki session. For clinical services, ask about Counseling or Healing Intensives. We will help clarify the service, availability, and appointment arrangements.
